Text

I am not yours, not lost, in you.
Not lost, although I long to be.
Lost as a candle lit at noon,
Lost as a snowflake in the sea,
Lost as a light is lost in light,
Yet where I am, I long to be.

So how does it feel to know that nothing stays?
And how does it feel to know that we all fade? So, get lost. (repeated)
I will never wake up,
from the sleep my lies give me.
I will not hold my breath,
or take pictures of my memories.
So how does it feel to know that nothing stays?
And how does it feel to know that we all fade? So, get lost. – Joshua Jandreau, 2017
(adapted from Sara Teasdale's "I Am Not Yours")
